27th Annual State SSAA & TTBB Choral Festival – High School Choirs

FOR ACDA-MN MEMBERS AND THEIR STUDENTS:

ACDA-MN invites its members to select balanced quartets of their talented high school singers to join in the celebration of the 27th Annual STATE SSAA & TTBB CHORAL FESTIVAL, to be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Saint John’s University in Collegeville. Don’t have a full quartet of SSAA or TTBB voices? Contact Mike -- another school might have singers of the part(s) you lack; together they can comprise a full quartet! Let’s make it possible for more singers to have a great festival experience.

Each year over 750 singers from 10+ college SSAA and TTBB ensembles and nearly 40 high schools participate in this Festival. College ensembles participating last fall represented the College of Saint Benedict, the College of Saint Scholastica, North Central University, St. Catherine University, St. Cloud State University, Saint John’s University and St. Olaf College. This is a nationally unique festival, be part of it!

Deadline for High School registrations:

Guidelines for registration/participation:

  2. Check for potential schedule conflicts - fall sports sectional/regional play-offs, tournaments, musicals, ACT testing, etc.
  3. Please register balanced quartets. (i.e. SSAA, TTBB). Partial quartets can be combined with other schools to make complete quartets.
  4. Give accurate e-mail address. Schedules, information and most communication will be done via e-mail and internet website. If you need/prefer information by mail, let the coordinator know when you register.
  5. Please be certain singers know their music before arriving at the Festival. Rehearsal tracks are posted on the ACDA-MN website for easy access.
  6. Please have singers number the measures in their music and bring pencils and music to rehearsals!
  7. Recordings will be made of all three Festival concerts and can be ordered from Westmark Recording. Order blanks will be available the day of the festival, or can be found on the festival website.
  8. Choral participants traditionally dress in their concert attire for the Intra-Festival and Finale Concerts.
