Background:

I have been the choir director at Buffalo High School for the past 29 years.  I am also active in my community as founder and director of the Wright County Chamber Chorus, director of the Zion Lutheran Senior Choir and frequent musical director for Buffalo Community Theater.  A transplant from Wisconsin, I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Masters in Choral Conducting from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.  I have continued my post-graduate education with study at the University of Minnesota, the Oregon Bach Festival, the Voice Care Network and regular attendance at the MMEA Mid-Winter Clinic and the MN-ACDA Dialogue.  I am an active member of MMEA/NAfME and ACDA, having served as MMEA Region 7-8 AA Representative, twice as a section leader for the All-State Men's Choir, music representative to the Region 2AA Committee, as a region representative on the MN-ACDA board, and as chair of the Music Listening Contest Board.  In 2010 I was honored to be selected as a MMEA Music Educator of the Year.

Message to Colleagues:

I am so proud to be a member of Minnesota ACDA and to be coordinating what I think is one of the best festivals in the country for high school and college singers.  Like everything that ACDA-MN does, this festival provides a unique and exciting musical experience, in this case, giving high school students from throughout the state the opportunity to sing TTBB and SSAA literature with college students from across the state and to work with several different outstanding directors.  The colleges have a great performance opportunity early in the year for their like-voiced ensembles and the high school students get to hear all of the wonderful college choir programs we have in this state.  So much beautiful music for one Saturday in October!
