Past President Memories
Carl H. Lipke (1969-1970)
It was in the academic year of 1969-70 that Morris Hayes of Eau Claire State College, Wisconsin, appointed me as the President for the newly formed Minnesota chapter. In those days, divisional presidents were responsible for recruiting leadership across their geographic areas to help grow the organization. I was specifically charged with the responsibility of recruiting members from Minnesota to join ACDA. This I did, and with the further recruiting of members I was able to recruit, ACDA-MN began to steadily grow. The organization sponsored one activity per year, and that was organizing an interest session or sponsoring a performance at the MMEA Mid-Winter Clinic.
