Singers in Accord Auditions - 2010-2011 Concert Season 

Are you a choral "lifer" looking for a challenging new choir experience?  Or do you know a talented singer that should be singing with an exciting choral ensemble? Send them this invitation!  

Singers in Accord employs a different artistic collaborator for every concert series!  This unique organizational approach not only gives members wonderful variety in each performance experience, but also provides an opportunity for singers to learn a wide array of vocal techniques to improve individual vocal development and maintain a high quality choral experience for both the singer and audience.

Singers in Accord provides a healthy, welcoming environment for members to grow in their vocal maturity with singers and top notch collaborators that are dedicated to achieving choral excellence.  We invite singers to audition that have a desire to be a part of a unique ensemble that works together to advance the mission of the organization within the choral community.

Audition Information

We are looking for adult singers who:

 -  have experience in choral singing

 -  have the ability to learn music quickly and independently

 -  can commit to sing for an entire concert season (Sept - May)

 -  will conscientiously prepare in advance of each rehearsal

 -  are available to rehearse Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:30 p.m. 

    (at University Lutheran Church of Hope in Minneapolis)

Auditions will be held:

Tuesday - July 27 and Thursday August 12, 2010

6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The 20-minute audition will include:

 -  Performance of a solo in a language other than English (any genre)

 -  Sight singing with a quartet of SIA singers

 -  Range testing

2010-2011 Concert Collaborators

November 13-14, 2010 – SIA welcomes internationally renowned choral conductor and clinician Kathy Romey for their first concert series of the season.  Romey is currently the Director of Choral Activities at the U of MN and the Artistic Director of the Minnesota Chorale.

February 11-13, 2011 – Twin Cities based dinger, producer, composer, vocal arranger and educator J. D. Steele will join SIA and a Twin Cities youth choir celebrating the goodness and optimism of today’s youth.

May 14-15, 2011 - Jerry Rubino, well known musician, conductor, educator and composer will direct SIA and a collaborating adult choral ensemble in an expressive collection of choral music to round out the 2010-11 concert season!
