Allan Hawkins (1995-1997)

Looking back on the six years I was in a leadership position on the Executive Board of Directors, there are a few specific memories/events that come to mind…

I remember serving as registration chair for a convention at the College of St. Catherine and it was a BIG DEAL to be printing name badges on site with a computer.

I remember sitting in a North Central Division board meeting with discussions about whether or not it was important to include email addresses in the directory.

The 1995 Fall Convention at Concordia University in St. Paul with English composer David Fanshawe, composer of “African Sanctus”. Looking back at all the communications that took place WITHOUT the Internet makes me cringe.

What an honor to be part of the 1996 FMC anniversary concert event at the Fall Convention located at St. Olaf College.

If it’s possible to pinpoint a “best” memory it would have to be at one of the many Summer Dialogues. Does anybody else remember the “June Bug” warmup?
