ACDA of Minnesota strives to offer many varied activities for members and their singers.
Below are descriptions of all of the major events ACDA of Minnesota sponsors.
Choral Arts Finale
Since this premier high school choral festival began in 2006, 1700 high school singers from 28 choirs have participated in this prestigious event. 2016 Date: Sunday, April 17
Each year six special honor choir projects are organized to provide opportunities that feature outstanding choral talent in a variety of levels such as: State 4-5-6 Boys' & Girls'; State 7-8 Boys' & Girls'; State 9-10 Women's and State 9-10 Mixed. Over 2000 students audition each year for placement into the honor choir program with over 750 students selected.

Men’s/Women’s Chorus Festival
Men’s/Women’s Chorus Festival is held each fall highlighting and encouraging the finest in Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus singing throughout our state. Collegiate choral groups and select high school and community college SSAA/TTBB quartets combine their talents to present one of the largest and most exciting events of its kind in the country located at St. John's University, Collegeville. 2016 Date: Saturday, October 29
State Conference is traditionally held on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving to present Minnesota’s finest in choral performance of all levels, practical workshops and interest sessions led by noted state and national clinicians located at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi. Continuing Education/Graduate credit is available. 2016 Date: No State Conference in 2016, due to Minnesota hosting the ACDA National Conference in March of 2017.
Student and Young Conductor Symposium
Student and Young Conductor Symposium is held each fall during the State Conference weekend organized by with practical workshops and interest sessions specially designed and formatted for the student conductor or beginning choral director, led by Minnesota choral directors. 2016 Date: No State Conference in 2016, due to Minnesota hosting the ACDA National Conference in March of 2017.
Summer Dialogue is held each August in conjunction with the MMEA All-State Choir. It serves as an opportunity to discuss and share with Minnesota choral directors such topics as choral technique, performance practice, conducting skills, vocal production and quality literature. A featured part of this annual event are the daily new music Reading Sessions featuring music from many publishers selected by choral directors as outstanding new music for the coming year. Continuing Education/Graduate credit is available. 2016 Date: Tuesday, August 2 through Friday, August 5 located at St. John's University • Collegeville MN
